LDraw part editing is NOT for the faint of heart. The best resource for getting a ldraw part is to ask the community of part developers. They can be located at
www.lugnet.com/cad
Now based on your email it looks like you are just trying to rotate the part upside down, right? Are you using MLCAD for that?

I'm an idiot, I know, but I can neither flip the part nor reset the studs...even if I could get the studs to point down, I could flip the whole part in LDraw and it would do what I need...
Is there a visual editor for ldraw parts for those of us too stupid to figure out the line code?
