hello there,

I have just downloaded the libraries from ldraw.org for my linux system. Is it
normal that the all files in the archive are read-write-executable for
everyone (777 across the board).

Also the manual instrall instructions talk about the following steps:

root# mkdir -p ldraw/bitmap
root# chmod a+w ldraw/bitmap

this leads to the following result on my system:
drwxrwxrwx  7 root root 4096 2006-01-05 03:02 LDRAW/
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 2006-09-30 13:13 ldraw/

where LDRAW is from the archive and ldraw as per instructions.

Is this normal? or is there some kind of problem with the archive (permissions
&& filenames)

thanks

Michiel
