Also Marcel in reply to LEGO Digital Designer (LDD). LDD is software owned by The LEGO Company and while the LDraw format is some-what supported by it we can only offer limited help with it. The LDD format just like the LDraw format and simple formats that do not carry all the complex information that a real 3D format would carry to create 3D objects in 3D softwares. While the LDraw format can define a 3D object in space it lacks the information telling it what type of "skin" the object should have that true 3D applications require.
