I'm the developer of the MOTM module.  I'll be the first to admit that 
it's very much a work in progress.  Also, while primarily intended to be 
the handle the LDraw.org contests and index the contest winners, due to 
the lack of an adequate polling module I felt the poll aspect of it 
could be adapted to suit other our needs (such as the SteerCo election) 
and sort of shoehorned in the functionality.

That said, can you guys give me some suggestions on how to make it 
better?  You specifically mention the interface is clunky (UI design is 
not one of my strong suits, programmers don't make good users) and I'd 
like some specific guidance in this respect.
